Family Beginnings

La Patisserie started up as a one man home-based operation business in Guelph, Ontario in 1995. Richard and his wife Claire, set up shop in their home. Armed with over two decades of pastry knowledge, a double door fridge in the garage and, a Kitchen Aid mixer in their kitchen, their delicious cakes quickly attracted restaurant chefs in the Guelph and surrounding areas.

 

 

One Year Later

Business growth came quickly and the company became incorporated in 1996 while also relocating to a small industrial production facility in Kitchener, Ontario. Over the next eight years the company continued to grow its wholesale operation, and at the same time continually invested and expanded its production capabilities, employing more staff and purchasinga refrigerated van.

 

Today & Beyond

La Patisserie gradually expanded thanks to its success. Eventually the company relocated to a new facility in 2008, in anticipation of  future growth.

As business grew, a new retail store was outfitted. In recent years, the store and sales grew. The introduction of artisan breads became an integral part of retail sales. The bakery now offers every Wednesday through Saturday, baguettes, sour dough, milk bread, focaccia and more.
